Walking
-
Numerous footpaths lead from The Coach House and whole day trips
can be planned walking through wonderful scenery. The famous
Cotswold Way can be joined at Uley, 3-4 miles away.
Cycling
There are very good cycle tracks around both for the enthusiast
and 'easy rider'. Cycles can be hired from The Cycle Clinic
in Nailsworth by the day or week.
Golf
Two
courses can be found nearby allowing non-members to play. Minchinhampton
Old Course is a links type course set up on top of Minchinhampton
Common. Cotswold Edge Golf Course is more traditional. Both
have stunning views across the Gloucestershire countryside.
Towns The
local town of Nailsworth is very interesting to visit full of
individual small shops. Bath, Cheltenham and Cirencester are
larger towns and are only 40 minutes drive away. Bibury, Slad,
Painswick and Stroud are all within 20 minutes and other numerous
pretty villages are closer. There is a bus station in Nailsworth
(six minutes walk) and a mainline station in Stroud.
Other
Interests
Other interesting places to visit include Westonbirt Arboretum,
Woodchester Manor, Berkeley Castle, The Wildfowl and Wetlands
Trust at Slimbridge founded by Sir Peter Scott, Ruskin Mill in
Nailsworth and Dyrham Park. The Coach House is also within easy
access to Gatcombe, Badminton and the Cheltenham Race Course.
